Small Gifts
Last year I began doing a series on song birds. These beautiful, unassuming creatures are truly just as impressive as their larger brethren, the eagles, hawks and falcons. They are hard to spot in the wild and it takes patience, patience and endurance in order to get some good shots.
The Trumpeter Swans that arrived two weeks late in November of last year have been harder to spot. Not because they blend but because they've been elusive. But the sun has come out and the tides have been favourable lately so viewing them either in the estuary or at the riverwalk has been possible. It has been bloody cold of late, however, so standing perched over a tripod for hours has been a real chore.
Arriving this month, too, have been two small gifts - my twin grandchildren. I have yet to see them in person but that will be rectified once things have settled down for the babes, the older brother and the parents!
