Uclulet and Tofino are two of my favourite places on Vancouver Island. We stayed at the Tin Wis not long ago and were delighted to see a common loon dipping and diving awhile hunting. How can you tell the sex of a common loon without being a loon? I expect it might drive one a bit loony!

This was my first chance to use my new Nikon D7200 camera. I was not disappointed. Mind you, it helped having the manual appear in an app on my phone. Yay, Steve Jobs!
